Support indigenous communities

The Cabildo Siona Gaoya is a non-profit organization for the promotion of the Siona indigenous community in the municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, department of Putumayo, Republic of Colombia and the protection of ancestral traditions, the language, the education of our children to a better future in peace and sustainable development with Mother Earth and the Colombian Homeland.

What we believe?

We believe in a world where all indigenous children can grow up without fear of discrimination, without abandoning their ancestral traditions and language, and with their human rights guaranteed.

To do this, it is important to strengthen our community ties, recognize ourselves in our ancestral cultural identity, with our grandfathers and grandmothers, our ancestral systems of education, justice, our spirituality with sacred medicines and our care for Mother Earth, especially with the protection of the forests, traditional chagra agriculture and the care of water sources such as the river and its tributaries.
